Maintenance of Ormond College’s heritage slate roofs and leadwork.
Our role includes annual roof condition inspections, preparation and costing of prioritised maintenance programs, and completion of approved works.
Works include slate replacement and repairs, lead dormer rebuilding, replacement of valley flashings, ridge and hip repairs, and associated leadwork with a focus on preserving the existing fabric and extending the life of the roofs.

Inspection, maintenance and conservation of Trinity College’s heritage slate roofs.
Our role includes roof condition assessments, identification and prioritisation of defects, preparation and costing of maintenance works, and completion of approved repairs.
Works include slate replacement, ridge repairs, leadwork and flashing repairs, with a focus on maintaining weather-tightness and preserving the existing heritage fabric.

Replacement of deteriorated lead cappings to the heritage spires, including repairs to the underlying timber structure.
Works also included treatment and protective painting of the existing cast-iron finials, with new leadwork detailed and installed using traditional techniques to improve weather-tightness and long-term durability.

Targeted repairs to extend the service life of the existing ageing Ffestiniog slate roof.
Works included replacement of approximately 200 deteriorated slates, renewal of step flashings and valleys, treatment and protective coating of salvageable metalwork, and replacement of gutters and fascia to improve drainage and prevent overflow.

Using Elevated Work Platforms (EWP), we carry out targeted repairs and inspections to difficult-to-access roof areas without the need for extensive scaffolding.
This approach provides safe and efficient access while minimising disruption, reducing costs and allowing essential maintenance to be completed with minimal impact on the building and its occupants.
